There are markets in Valencia that are must-visit spots for bargain hunters, and Flea Market Valencia’s events have become a classic destination for great deals. This Sunday, October 18, they’re back with a flea market where every item costs exactly one euro—no more, no less.
The Valvanera Market, in Plaza de Santiago Suárez, will be filled from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with stalls offering all kinds of vintage items, so visitors can pick up clothes, books, toys, or anything else from the nearly endless selection of products that will be on sale.
An initiative launched by the cultural association il Quartiere that aims to promote responsible consumption and build community in the neighborhoods. Admission costs just one euro, and children under 12 get in for free. You can also participate as a vendor by contacting them via email (hola@ilquartierevalencia.com).
In addition to offering items at prices that are hard to believe, the event features workshops and cultural activities on upcycling and clothing customization, as well as talks, concerts, and dance performances. It’s a unique way to spend a Sunday morning—having fun and taking home a couple of great finds.
RETROmarket, October 24 and 25
This month, il Quartiere is hosting two different markets over the next two weekends: on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, RETROmarket will take place—an antiques fair focused on furniture and decorative items, though vintage clothing will also be for sale.
The event will take place at the Las Américas Shopping Center in Torrent, and admission is free. Keep in mind, however, that in this case, prices are set by the seller, although the philosophy of making the most of items and reusing them remains the same. The venue is located at Avenida al Vedat, 180, and can be reached by public transportation via Metrovalencia Line 2.
