This Sunday, October 4, the second edition of Rocafort Antic will take place—the province’s largest gathering of antique dealers, collectors, and vintage items. Following the success of last year’s event—the first of its kind ever organized in Valencia—the House&Market team wanted to repeat the experience with an event that will bring together nearly 30 exhibitors from across the country.
The fair will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Plaza de España in Rocafort, the same venue as last year. The enthusiastic response from both the public and experts has encouraged Sarah and Helena Pla, founders of House&Market, to hold the event again and expand the number of participants and their regions of origin. In addition to professionals from Valencia, Alicante, and Castellón, this time vendors from Madrid, Barcelona, San Sebastián, Burgos, and Albacete will also be joining.
Throughout the morning, exhibitors will “unpack” their selection of items live: furniture, porcelain, glassware, paintings, lamps, textiles, vintage finds, curiosities, and collectible antiques. This will transform the plaza into a large open-air market where visitors can browse, haggle, and discover pieces with a story behind them. Of course , admission is free for anyone who wants to stop by.
The flea market format has a long tradition in France and has been spreading throughout Spanish cities for years. Rocafort Antic is bringing this concept to the Valencia metropolitan area for the second consecutive year, establishing it as a premier event for antique and collectibles enthusiasts in the Valencian Community.
Beyond just buying and selling, the event also makes for a great Sunday outing: strolling among the stalls, chatting with vendors, and discovering items that are hard to find at other types of markets. The event has been organized in collaboration with the Rocafort City Council and the Provincial Council of Valencia.
How to get to Rocafort Antic
Although the event will officially open to the public at 9:00 a.m., early birds will be able to access Plaza de España a little earlier. To get there, the organizers recommend parking on Juan Carlos I Avenue, Blasco Ibáñez Avenue, and the surrounding streets, all just a few meters from the plaza.
It’s also possible to get there by metro: the Rocafort stop on Line 1 is a five-minute walk away. Those who need to transport bulky purchases will have support staff to help carry them to their vehicles; in addition, some exhibitors will offer home delivery service.
It’s a good idea to bring cash, as not all booths will have card readers, although there is an ATM right in Plaza de España.
