The fifth edition of the BBVA Valencia International Open returns this September to the capital of the Turia region, bringing women’s tennis at the highest level. The tournament will be held from September 13 to 20 at the Sporting Club de Tenis on Avenida Baleares.
This year’s tournament will feature a star-studded field, including several players ranked in the top 100 of the WTA world rankings. Clara Burel, Rebeka Masarova, Katarzyna Kawa, and the top seed, Oksana Selekhmeteva, will compete in Valencia alongside some of the leading figures in Spanish tennis, such as Marina Bassols, Valencia native Leyre Romero, Andrea Lázaro, and Nuria Párrizas. The winner will take home the trophy and a prize of more than 13,000 euros.
The Sporting Club will host live matches every day, and tickets are still available for purchase. Over the seven days of the competition, 42 matches will be played among the 64 invited players, and a total of more than 100,000 euros in prize money will be awarded.
The qualifying rounds will take place this Sunday, the 13th, and admission is free for this first day of play. For the rest of the tournament, ticket prices will range from 6 to 50 euros, depending on the match and seat location.
However, from Monday the 14th through Wednesday the 16th, admission will be free and open to the public upon donation of 5 kilograms or more of non-perishable food items. This is a charitable initiative by the BBVA International Open of Valencia to support the Valencia Food Bank.
