If you’re a fan of crime novels and thrillers, the name Camilla Läckberg will not only ring a bell, but her books will likely hold a special place on your bookshelf. The author of international bestsellers such as *The Ice Princess*, *A Golden Cage*, and *The Cuckoo’s Nest* has sold over 40 million books and has become the “queen” of one of the genres that captivates the widest audience.
What most of her fans don’t know is that her latest books have been written (or at least a large part of them) from the Valencian coast. The writer bought a house in Altea (Alicante) in 2023, and that’s where she spends the summer months and her children’s school breaks.
The mansion, which she has dubbed *La Casa de Papel*, is a 550-square-meter villa with six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, and a large terrace overlooking the Mediterranean and a golf course. A spectacular home valued at over 22 million euros, as shown in an episode of the documentary series *Svenska powerkvinnor* (*Powerful Swedish Women*).

The writer remarked in an interview with *El Correo* that she is a lover of Spanish culture and local cuisine. In addition, her husband, former UFC fighter Simon Sköld, has spent his summers in Torrevieja his entire life—the town where his parents live. Läckberg also notes that, although most of her books are set in a small Swedish town, the Alicante coast serves as inspiration for her stories.
