On September 5 and 6, the Valencian Mediterranean will return to its most athletic side: the waters of Marina Port Valencia will become the setting for the Spain Sail Grand Prix. The capital on the Turia River takes over from Cádiz as the host city for the competition, joining a circuit of iconic cities such as New York, Sydney, and Rio de Janeiro and becoming the tenth stop on a global calendar of 13 events. With the Grand Prix just around the corner, the last remaining tickets are selling out fast: get yours here.
This Spain Grand Prix also marks the return of a major international sailing competition to the Valencia Marina. In addition, anticipation is at a fever pitch to see Los Gallos in action: the Spanish team, led by Olympic champions Diego Botín and Florián Trittel, has been unstoppable this season with two consecutive victories—in Halifax (Canada) and Portsmouth (Great Britain)—and has managed to secure a spot on the podium in every Grand Prix they’ve competed in this season. This time they’re competing at home, supported by thousands of fans and their “Marea Roja,” in what promises to be a weekend of excitement, adrenaline, and spectacular racing.
What is SailGP?

To understand the magnitude of SailGP, you have to forget the image of sailing as a slow-paced, traditional sport. Here we’re talking about a global league that brings together the world’s best teams aboard the F50s— catamarans just over 15 meters long that are often described as “water fighters.”
Thanks to their design, these boats reach speeds exceeding 100 km/h, often “flying” over the water as they sail a meter and a half above the surface. All this adrenaline-fueled technical spectacle takes place just a few meters from the shore—a proximity that allows the audience to see every maneuver with complete clarity, to the point where you can almost feel the spray.
How can you enjoy SailGP in Valencia?

The SailGP experience in Valencia has been designed as a festival that goes beyond what happens on the water. The action is centered at the Grada Frente al Mar (or Grandstand), a location that offers elevated views right in front of the race course, live commentary so you don’t miss a single detail of the races, and an entertainment area featuring simulators and local cuisine.
In addition, in the Race Stadium area, fans will be able to enjoy a whole range of activities, such as live DJs, concerts by up-and-coming bands, and even face painting for the little ones (and the not-so-little ones).
Last-minute day passes or weekend passes
Whatever your style, there are options tailored to different tastes, allowing you to choose between the intensity of a single day or the full experience, so you don’t miss a single detail of SailGP in Valencia. There’s even a specific ticket for the biggest fans of Los Gallos: the Marea Roja.
This section of the Grandstand is an exclusive experience that, in addition to offering all the benefits we’ve mentioned about the Seafront Stand, includes exclusive gifts from Los Gallos.
